AI coding agents changed how software gets built. You describe a task, and the agent reads your project, edits files, runs the tests and fixes what broke. Claude Code and Codex made that normal for millions of developers.
They also come with a ceiling. Both follow their makers' usage policies, so a lot of ordinary, legal work gets a polite "I can't help with that": the graphic chapter of a horror novel, the dialogue for a mature game, an app for adult creators, a blunt script for a comedy channel, a security test on your own server. You rephrase, you argue, you give up.
Cleus Code is our answer: an AI coding agent that works on your whole computer and doesn't stop at the first refusal. This guide explains what it is, what it can do today, how it compares with Claude Code and Codex, and where the limits are.
What is Cleus Code?
Cleus Code is a desktop app and a terminal command (cleus) for Mac and Windows. Like Claude Code or Codex, it's an agent: you give it a goal, and it plans, edits files, runs commands and checks its own work until the job is done. Every step shows up in the session, so you can see exactly what it read, changed and ran.
Three things make it different:
- It's uncensored by default. Cleus Code runs on Cleus Uncensored V3, Cleus's own uncensored model. It treats adult fiction, dark themes, profanity and edgy humor as normal work, not policy violations.
- It uses your whole computer. Besides the terminal, it can take screenshots and use the mouse and keyboard, so it can drive desktop apps, settings and dialogs. It also browses the web in a real browser.
- It makes media. Every Cleus model is a tool it can call: image generation and editing, text-to-video with sound, songs, voiceovers, sound effects and voice cloning. Assets land straight in your project folder.
You can switch models in Settings → Models. Pick Claude Opus 5.5 when you want Anthropic's model for a hard engineering task, or Cleus Auto, which uses Claude and moves the session to Uncensored V3 by itself whenever Claude refuses.
What can you do with an uncensored coding agent?
"Uncensored" isn't about breaking things. It's about the large amount of legitimate work that mainstream assistants decline because a topic sounds sensitive. Some examples:
Write fiction, games and interactive stories
Novelists, screenwriters and game writers hit refusals constantly: an interrogation scene, a villain's monologue, a mature romance route in a visual novel. Cleus Code can read your earlier chapters, keep the voice consistent and write the next one straight into chapters/12.md. It can build the branching dialogue files for your game, generate character portraits, and make a voiced trailer from the same session.
Build apps for adult and mature audiences
Dating apps, creator platforms, mature games and companion apps are real businesses, but many coding agents get cautious the moment the product involves adult content. Cleus Code builds the app and its sample content and test data without lecturing. As always, you are responsible for age checks, consent and the law where you operate.
Security work on your own systems
Testing your own server, auditing your own code for vulnerabilities, writing detection rules or analyzing a suspicious file are defensive jobs that keyword filters often block. Cleus Code helps with security work on systems you own or are allowed to test.
Content moderation and safety tools
Moderation classifiers need realistic examples of the content they are meant to catch. Building a filter for a forum or game chat is much easier with an agent that can produce and label test data instead of refusing to look at it.
Blunt writing and automation
Roast scripts, comedy sketches, uncensored product reviews, scraping and organizing your own data, renaming 4,000 files, cutting a video with ffmpeg: Cleus Code just does it.
From idea to done in one session
Step through it.
"Write chapter 12 in the voice of chapters 1–11 and save it." or "Add Stripe checkout and run the tests."
Beyond code: your computer, your browser, your media
Most coding agents live in a terminal. Cleus Code was built to do the rest of the job too.
- Computer control. The
computertool takes a screenshot, then clicks, types, scrolls and presses shortcuts. That lets it export frames from a design app, change a setting, or fill in a form in a desktop program. It asks before it looks at your screen or uses the mouse and keyboard, and again before purchases, sending messages or deleting things. On a Mac you grant Screen Recording and Accessibility once in System Settings. - Browser. It opens pages, clicks, fills forms and reads documentation in a real browser, which is ideal for testing the web app you are building.
- Media. Ask for launch assets and get hero images, a 10-second product video with sound and a background track, saved where your site expects them. The same tools power Cleus Imagine and are available to any agent through the Cleus MCP server.
- Plugins. Cleus Code supports MCP, so it connects to GitHub, databases, issue trackers and any other MCP server you add.

Claude Code and Codex are excellent tools, and for a lot of everyday engineering they are the right choice. Cleus Code is for people who keep hitting walls with them, or who want one agent that also makes the images, video and music their project needs.
What does it cost?
There's no separate subscription. Each task is billed from your Cleus USD balance by the tokens and media it actually uses (balance billing needs Cleus Premium). The default model is also the cheapest, which matters for an agent that may read thousands of lines per task.
Price per 1M tokens
Billed from your Cleus balance
Cleus Auto is billed at Claude Opus 5.5 prices until it switches to Uncensored V3. Prices from cleus.ai/code, November 2026.
Images, video and music are billed at the same prices as in the Cleus app and API, and media tools show the cost before anything expensive runs.
What Cleus Code won't do
Uncensored doesn't mean anything goes. A few things are always off-limits, whichever model you pick: sexual content involving minors, malware or attacks on systems you don't own, weapons capable of mass casualties, and targeting real private people (doxxing, stalking, harassment or non-consensual intimate images). For images and video there are extra checks: no sexual or nude images of real people, and no nudity when you supply a photo, since it may show a real person.
Everything else that is legal, from adult fiction to dark themes to security testing on your own systems, keeps going.

How to get Cleus Code
Cleus Code is in an invite-only beta. The Mac app comes first, and Windows follows during the beta. To get in:
- Join the waitlist at cleus.ai/code.
- When your invite arrives, sign in at cleus.ai/code and download the app.
- Open it, approve the sign-in code in your browser, and give it its first task.
If you already build with Cleus, the Cleus API and MCP server give Claude Code, Codex or your own app the same media tools today.
Cleus Code FAQ
Is Cleus Code a Claude Code alternative?
Yes. It does the same core job, an agent in your terminal and desktop app that edits files and runs commands, and it is uncensored by default, controls your computer and has image, video and music generation built in.
Is it a Codex alternative?
Yes. If you use Codex but keep hitting refusals, or want one agent that also makes media and drives desktop apps, Cleus Code covers both.
Which model does Cleus Code use?
Cleus Uncensored V3 by default. In Settings you can switch to Claude Opus 5.5, or to Cleus Auto, which uses Claude and moves to Uncensored V3 whenever Claude refuses.
Does it run on Windows?
Cleus Code is built for Mac and Windows. The beta starts with the Mac app, and Windows follows.
Is it safe to let an AI control my computer?
It asks before it looks at your screen or uses the mouse and keyboard, and again before purchases, messages or deleting things. Every step is shown in the session, and you can stop it at any time.
